A dissolution testing and UV analysis method for ibuprofen was received from another college with the associated ibuprofen tablets. The method was validated using figures of merit according to the received standard operating procedure (SOP) and using a similar instrument. Any required deviations from the SOP needed to allow for the procedure to be completed were noted. A comparison of the method validation results to the ones provided from the former college was done using statistics and the transfer was considered successful. A few minor adjustments were made to the SOP and this experiment will be transferred back to the originating school to see whether they can replicate the method validation following the SOP on the identical instrumentation as used before. We will discuss the method validation and analysis of ibuprofen tablets following the transferred method and statistical analysis to demonstrate equivalency.
