The presentation will describe one PUI chemistry faculty recent experiences as a Fulbright scholar in Buenos Aires, Argentina. This Fulbright Scholar collaboration was hosted by the organometallic group of Professor Fabio Doctorovich at the Universidad de Buenos Aires (UBA), and included research on structure elucidation of ionic carbon-boron cluster-based materials. The Fulbright project also pursued an exchange of ideas for undergraduate liberal arts and science education between UBA and other institutions in Argentina and US.The Fulbright Scholar Program sends more than 1,200 U.S. scholars and professionals each year to teach or conduct research in more than 125 countries. These scholars have established new global programs and engaged in collaborative work with colleagues around the world. The Fulbright Scholar Program is sometimes viewed as a resource preferential or exclusive for social sciences and humanities scholars. This perception needs to  to be expanded towards higher STEM field representation and this change is actively being sought after by the current Fulbright fund administration.The presenter is a member of the Fulbright Ambassador Program, which identifies, trains, and engages a select group of Fulbright Scholar alumni to serve as representatives for the Fulbright Program at campus workshops and academic conferences across the United States. Although the presenter will primarily speak her own experience as a Fulbright Scholar and alumna, the elements composing the Core Fulbright Scholar program for U.S will be briefly addressed and there will be time allotted for questions about the general application process, particularly for the specialists in STEM field.Scholars, such as the presenter, return to their campuses with new perspectives on their fields of research and education and fresh ideas for further international participation. Thus, the presentation will be of particular interest to scholars wishing to expand their research and professional linkages.
