The electron/vibrational coupling on metal nanomaterial surfaces was investigated with ultrafast nonlinear vibrational spectroscopy. It was found that the coupling is dependent on the particle size, the surface site, the surface distance, and the chemical nature of the metal, but independent of temperature.
