We have developed a family of neutral and cationic indium compounds supported by chiral aminophenolate ligands and have explored their reactivity for the ring opening polymerization of cyclic esters and ethers to form functionalized biodegradable polyesters.  These complexes are highly active catalysts for living polymerization and exhibit significant selectivity.  We have further examined immortal polymerization pathways to form polymers with more complex higher level structure and have studied the properties of these polymers.
