Block copolymers microphase separate into numerous morphologies with characteristic dimensions on the order of tens of nanometers. Both the morphology and domain size of the conductive phase have profound effects on the material properties of the electrolyte, such as ionic conductivity and mechanical. In order to examine the relationship of the architecture and functional properties of polymer solid electrolytes, advanced molecular design and the systematic tunability of the chemical structure of each domain is clearly required. We are developing a new class of nanoscale phase-separated peptoid polymers, based on ethylene oxide (EO)n motifs.  We investigated the nanoscale phase separation behavior of these polymers and their mixtures with lithium salts, to reveal relationships between structure and conductivity.
