Neutral and anionic guanidine ligands are useful for the preparation of high-oxidation state complexes given their good donor properties. Here we present the first-row coordination chemistry of several cyclic guanidines with the transition elements Fe�Cu. The preparation and characterization of the complexes, as well as discussions of their solid-state structures and reactivities will be highlighted.
