A new compound having an a,�-unsaturated acrylthioimidate structure was discovered by insecticidal screening of an in-house compound library. The compound was used as a lead compound, because it exhibited excellent insecticidal activity. Its pharmacophore was identified as the 2-Propen-1-imine structure having a hetero atom-mediated substituent group on the 3-position by considering partial structures of the lead compound. By studying of the structure-activity relationship, 3-Methy-1-propyllbutyl 3-(4-fluorophenylthio)-N-(Phenyl)acrylthioimidate was found to exhibit potent insecticidal activity.
