With ever increasing concerns about energy security and future oil supplies there is increasing focus on seeking non-petroleum based alternative fuels that could not only offer a diversity security of supply but also offer advantages over traditional fuels such as gasoline, diesel, natural gas and others.  The last two decades saw the emergence of a new, promising fuel, DME (dimethyl ether), which is a multi-source, multi-market advanced fuel with unique performance properties.
