Synergistic catalysis is based on the concurrent activation of both nucleophile and electrophile using distinct catalysts. We developed a synergistic metal-organocascade reaction for the synthesis of cyclopropanes from haloalkyl-azaarenes and enals. The products were obtained in good yields and stereoselectivities. This is the first example of coupling a Lewis metal activation in an organocascade reaction catalyzed by secondary amines.
