The 5-aminopyrazole heterocycle is found in a number of biological molecules.  More importantly, there is the need for synthetic routes to selectively construct the tautomeric heterocycle.  Through the use of isoxazoles and/or aminocoumarines (aminobenzopyrans), regioselectivity of subsituents on the ring may be controlled.  A practical synthesis methodology for control of aminopyrazole derivatization will be presented.
