WO3-WO3�0.33H2O nanocrystals were prepared from tungsten chloride and 2-propanol with a surfactant by solvothermal method. Through the control of surfactant concentration and reaction time, monoclinic WO3 urchins and hexagonal WO3�0.33H2O plates were obtained. The powders were analyzed by X-ray diffraction spectrum (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), Raman spectroscopy (Raman), surface area and porosity analyser (BET) and etc. Furthermore, for the adsorption capacity and photocatalytic activity, product with large surface areas shows the largest adsorption capacity of methylene blue (MB) with the value of ~136 mg/g. These results show their potential application in the water treatment. Detail information will be discussed in the meeting.
