Innovative protocols are described that exploit magnetic nanomaterials and eco-friendly reaction conditions namely the use of aqueous media and alternate energy activation via microwave irradiation for sustainable synthesis and efficient organic transformations. Generation of magnetic nanoferrites via MW hydrothermal process, adorning them with nanoparticles of interest namely nickel, copper, silver, palladium, ruthenium, cerium, and gold or organic ligands such as dopamine and glutathione will be highlighted with their magnetic retrieval as the central theme.Gawande, M.B., Branco, P.S., Varma, R.S.
