Bioconjugations represent a rapidly advancing field with a myriad of applications in biomedicine. This research is investigating the utilization of unnatural amino acids as a means to develop site-specific functional handles for conjugations involving therapeutically relevant proteins. Utilizing a variety of conjugation reactions, we have assessed the viability of these bioconjugation strategies for several applications, including the development of novel fluorescent probes.
