With the development of globalization, the appearance of an unknown virus in one region could be quickly spread to the whole country, even to the globe. The probability of becoming a global pandemic is very high, particularly when the disease was out of control in the developing countries due to the lack of the efficient equipments for early diagnosis and treatment. Here, we design a sample-in-answer-out genetic analysis device, which includes the sample processing (e.g., cell lysis, nucleic acids extraction and purification), amplifying (Polymerase chain reaction, PCR) and detecting the products. More efforts have been put in the electronic and mechanical engineering in order to shorten the testing time, prevent possible cross-contamination, improve the ability of signal detection, and miniaturize into a hand-held device. With further development and resources, such light-weight device are expected to speed up the diagnosis of pandemic viruses, making analytical results available on-site or in physician office within few minutes, which may make a promise to effectively control the disease from widely spreading.
