In this work, preparation of TiO2 nanotube arrays/Ti (TNTs/Ti) electrode for degradation of Orange G (OG) by photoelectrocatalytic (PEC) oxidation system has been studied. The TNTs/Ti electrode prepared by anodic oxidation method has been used as anode. The ammonium fluoride in ethylene glycol has been used as electrolyte, which is able to promote the formation of TiO2nanotube arrays on titanium surface. The influence of the preparation conditions including anodic voltage, anodization time, and post-treatment method has been investigated. The characteristic of TNTs/Ti was analyzed by SEM and LSV. The capacity for decolorization of OG was measured by UV/Vis spectrophotometry. The effect of anodic voltages on TNTs/Ti morphology is shown in Fig. 1. The result shows the size of diameter is increased from 38 to 90 nm with increasing the applied voltage. The photocurrent response curves are shown in Fig.2. Obviously, the higher photocurrent on high anodic voltage of TNTs/Ti electrode happens as expected. Because the size of TNTs growth is controlled by the anodic voltage, the size of TNTs on Ti mesh is increased with increasing the applied potential. These findings indicate that the morphology of TNTs on Ti substrate and photocurrent response is affected by anodic voltage in the anodic oxidation process.Figure 1.
