1.            A brief historical review of fracturing  (1949-2014)A discussion of fracturing technology development from its initial use in 1949 through to its impact on oil & gas shale development and production today. The discussion will include a review of fracturing  activity over time, fluid systems evolution, why fracturing is used, development of multi-stage horizontal fracturing and an overview of the current fracturing industry.2.            Criticisms/ Perception/Reality/MitigationThere will be a discussion of the current criticisms (issues) of fracturing and an analysis of the extent of the real (fact based) impact of each issue versus the public perception. In addition, industry and regulatory actions mitigating the impacts will be discussed. Issues reviewed will include; ground water contamination, cross communication into aquifers, use of potable water, impacts on seismic activity, and impact of fracturing chemicals3.            GASFRAC  There will be a discussion of the fracturing technology developed by GASFRAC and its benefits to oil & gas production and in eliminating certain of the issues noted in item 2. In particular, the use of a non-aqueous  system and its impact on production rates, elimination of water use, non-use of biocides, zero flaring, reduced truck traffic, no requirement for fluid disposal and ability to recycle fracturing fluid in a sustainable manner. Future developments such as use of �in-field� fluids will also be discussed.4.            What is the future of fracturing?There will be a discussion of the current economic impacts of fracturing on the North American economy, a review of the results of multi stage horizontal fracturing in recent years, and an analysis of the progression of fracturing technology to improve impact on production, improve economics and address stakeholder concerns.
