Undergraduate general chemistry is the first time most students experience a true chemistry environment. Due to their inexperience, they may be more prone to injury during their first year in university.  At UC Davis, each quarter enrolls about 4,000 students in general chemistry.We have developed a holistic and rigorous way to incorporate safety into every experiment and lab experience for our newest and most vulnerable students.  This presentationdescribes the various pieces of our program, including how students interact with the pre-lab program, and how TAs are critical to the success and safety of the general chemistry student.
