We have synthesized a series of stable quadricyclane derivatives in which we have varied the substituents at the bridgehead positions.  We present the characterization of these materials as well as studies on how the substituents affect the thermal stability of the quadricyclanes.  The results of these studies will provide information on the feasibility of using the norbornadiene to quadricyclane interconversion as a means of storing solar energy.
