We are a generation that has every tool we could wish for, copious quantities of data are created by high throughput screening and yet it still seems difficult for some to share molecules and data and therefore this impacts collaborations and progress. We will describe collaborations we have been involved in that involve different levels of collaboration and sharing. For example a multicenter collaboration on Tuberculosis MM4TB will be described which uses a single Collaborative Drug Discovery Vault. In addition a small-scale multicenter collaboration with researchers at CDD, Rutgers University and Stanford Research International highlights how close cooperation can move research forwards rapidly. As we shift into the mobile age the industry needs to consider how we can use such devices for collaboration. We provide examples on how public data can be used for structure activity assessment and also provide recommendations for Sharing of Molecules and Data in the Mobile Age.
