Catalytic methane oxidative coupling using CO2 as an oxidant was investigated in an electric field at low temperature (named E-CO2-OCM). E-CO2-OCM over La0.7Ca0.3AlO3-d catalyst was conducted. Highly concentrated electron energy was supplied to La0.7Ca0.3AlO3-d catalyst, and it enables activating CH4 and CO2. Important factors for improving E-CO2-OCM are higher CH4 concentration for increasing coupling frequency of methyl radical, and adsorbed CO2 on the oxygen defects for methyl radical formation.
