The structural features and chemical properties of sulfur-nitrogen compounds have long been well-understood, but selenium-nitrogen and tellurium-nitrogen chemistry has seen rapid progress only during recent decades.1 In this contribution, the development in the chemistry of imido derivatives of selenium and tellurium is discussed. The emphasis is on their structures, bonding, and reactivities. Chalcogen-halogen reactants and intermediates play a significant role in this development, as exemplified in Figure 1  .[1] (a) T.
