In recent years, there have been increasing interests in preparation of unique quantum dots (QD) with high quantum yields due to their potential utilities in applications such, as light-emitting diodes (LED), solar cells, and biological imaging. We have successfully developed a robust synthetic method for preparing CuInZnS3 and AgInZnS3 nanoparticles and related materials with quantum yields ups 25%.  These particles have been characterized by UV-Vis, XRD, TEM, and ICP-OES.  We also prepared several LEDs using CuInZnS3 and AgInZnS3 nanoparticles.
