Over the past eight years, the development of an electrospray ionization/ion funnel/rf hexapole ion source has revolutionized the types of ions available to guided ion beam tandem mass spectrometry studies.  With the addition of an in-source fragmentation technique that intrinsically relies on this source configuration, the range of systems expands even further.  This talk will review such applications and the thermodynamic results that have followed.
