Emission spectroscopy and related energy transfer processes of luminescent crystals containing rare earth elements such as [(UO2)R2(Ge2O7)2] (R= Eu or Sm) and R2(CHDC)3 (R= Y, Tb, or Eu, CHDC= cyclohexanedicarboxylate) were studied at ambient tempertaure. These crystals were synthesized by the hydrothermal synthesis techniques, and X-ray diffraction (XRD) data of these compounds were obtained for confirming their structure and purity. We have measured the photoluminescence (PL) spectra, excitation spectra, and emission decay curves of these compounds. In R2(CHDC)3, the one-way energy transfer from Tb3+ to Eu3+ was found to be efficient, whereas the concentration quenching phenomena were also clearly observed in these compounds. Interestingly, for the PL of K4[(UO2)R2(Ge2O7)2] compounds, an efficient uranyl sensitization was observed in the compound containing Eu3+, but not in the compound containing Sm3+. In addition, a complicated mechanism of energy transfer in  K4[(UO2)R2(Ge2O7)2] compounds wa found to be dependent of the excitation wavelength.
