The aim of enhanced oil recovery (EOR) is to recover between 10 and 35% of the remaining crude oil after the completion of the first (natural energy of the fluids and rock decompression) and second (water injection) steps in production. Among the possibilities, Chemical Enhanced Oil Recovery (CEOR), involving the injection of water-soluble polymers in the form of a dilute solution is a straightforward technique with a long commercial history. In this paper we present results of a study on the interactions between partially-hydrolyzed polyacrylamide (HPAm) and CrAc through 1H-NMR spectroscopy.
