Whereas the utilization of cationic gold(I)-based catalysts have witnessed substantial progress in recent years, the employment of well-defined gold(III) catalysts have proven more elusive. The development of such catalytic systems is of interest, as they display different reactivity compared to their established gold(I) counterparts.We are currently? studying the preparation of cationic gold(III) complexes through a carbon-carbon bond breaking oxidative addition with the corresponding gold(I) species.This presentation will focus on the generation of these gold(III) complexes as well as their novel catalytic properties.
