The extrememely weak but important vibrational features of Fe-CO, FeCN and Fe-H related modes has been evaluated with iron specific nuclear resonant vibrational spectroscopy. These features reveals the important intermediate states in the redox cycles and provides highlights in understanding the catalytic mechanisms.
