In this presentation, we will be discussing possible differences with Canada's other major commercial partners and will provide tips for drafting a specification that can be used as universally as possible.  Indeed, Canadian Court decisions have influenced prosecution of application with respect to the utility that is being promised therein as well as the supporting data for such utility.  In the field of other differences, methods of medical treatment claims are being rejected almost about everywhere but the United States.  However, there is an easy way of getting back the protection offered by the methods of medical treatment claims.  The Canadian Patent system is quite flexible on getting around this issue.  We will see how to get around this type of claims with simple tips for those drafting.  While at it, we will as well explore other particular aspects in Canadian prosecution that may somehow differ from other jurisdictions.
