Imaging contrast agents for magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and computed tomography (CT) have addressed great attention for early-stage cancer diagnosis. Gadolinium (Gd) metal organic framework (MOF) with tunable size, high Gd3+ loading and multivalency can potentially overcome the limitations of clinically utilized Gd chelcated contrast agents. In this work, we synthesized hybrid GdMOF/Au hybrid nanoparticles through two different approaches: polymer bridged GdMOF/Au and Au/GdMOF core�shell. The resutled nanocomposites, presenting both excellent MRI and CT responses, show potential application as a bimodal imaging contrast agent.
