The challenges posed by limited amounts of clean water and a growing human population are still not well understood by a significant portion of that population.  Greater awareness of water issues, specifically of waste treatment technologies and sanitation practices, can occur if these issues are addressed repeatedly in general chemistry classes at both the high school and the college level, and in upper level undergraduate college courses such as industrial chemistry and environmental chemistry and engineering classes.  This seminar will present a detailed, mapped approach to raising the awareness of water issues by repeated exposure in college chemistry classes in different courses.
