How to control the microstructure of polymer blends has garnered considerable attention over the past decade because it provides a platform to achieve high performance material. Block copolymer was extensively used to compatibilize immiscible polymer blends due to the amphiphilic behavior. Previous work focused on the synthesis of block copolymer with complex molecular architecture. In this paper, a new strategy, from the point of view of dynamic, was proposed to investigate how to achieve high performance material. With the special addition of small amounts of low molecular weight liquid isoprene-butadiene rubber, high performance vulcanized rubbers in the blends of Nature Rubber (NR) and Polybutadiene Rubber (BR) were achieved. Specifically, crack propagation of vulcanized rubber was measured by using dynamic mechanical analyzer (DMA). Combing with real-time monitoring the morphology of the cracking tip of vulcanized rubbers, lower crack propagation speeds was realized in this modified vulcanized rubber. We expect that this proposed method can serve as useful guide for other industrial processing (e.g., plastic industry).
