A family of polynuclear transition-metal complexes of a cryptand derived from tri(5-amino-2-ethoxy-3-isopropylphenyl)methane and pyridine dicarbonyl dichloride are presented. In all cases, the metal centers decorate the equatorial plane of the internal cavity of the ligand, and each cation is held within the meridional three N-atom chelate of a pyridine dicarboxamide unit. Interestingly, dinuclear complexes nickel(II) and copper(II) can be selectively synthesized and contain one protonated pyridine dicarboxamide arm, which is part of a hydrogen bonding network that extends throughout the internal cavity.<br/>
