The stack of graphene sheets in bulky systems greatly reduces its exceptionally high specific surface area, which limits the potential utilization of graphene. Hence, a series of graphene with macroscopic structure have been fabricated by chemically derived graphene or template-supported chemical vapor deposition. However, a tunable control of the macroscopic structure of graphene has yet been achieved. Here we report a method to fabricate three-dimensional porous graphene based on Ni templates derived from poly (styrene)/poly (ethylene oxide) blends with controllable phase morphology. Hollow structure with extremely high porosity of 95.15% was observed after Ni electroless-deposited onto the porous poly (styrene) templates with poly (ethylene oxide) removed. The as fabricated free-standing porous graphene was then evaluated as cathode materials in lithium-air batteries.
