The hemerocallisamines are a family of compounds isolated from the Daylily plant which is used in traditional medicine as a sleep aid. Efforts to synthesize two members of this family through a convergent route that is well-suited to the preparation of analogues. The route starts from furfuryl alcohol and involves an Achmatowicz rearrangement and amine condensation.
