Porous organic frameworks (POFs) with high surface area, permanent nano-/mesosized pores, and superior physiochemical stability have garnered extensive research interests in the past decade.1 In particular, π-conjugated POFs with photo-electronic activity are interesting because of their tailorable photoredox properties that can be easily adaptable for photocatalysis.2 However, the use of POFs in photocatalysis has been rare despite of the apparent advantages of easy access, low price, and high recyclability.3 Here, we demonstrate the use of carbazolic porous organic framework (Cz-POFs) as a new class of heterogeneous visible light photoredox catalysts. Constructed by FeCl3-promoted oxidative polymerization, Cz-POF-10 displays strong reductive capability and can easily generate superoxide anion (O2•–). Moreover, Cz-POF-10 also exhibits an excellent yield of 1O2 through energy transfer mechanism.
