An additional step of carbene cascade reaction to construct functionalized bridge bicyclic structures from alkynyl diazoesters is presented. This cascade proceeds through diazo decomposition and carbene/alkyne metathesis, and the first metal carbene intermediates would be formed. Then, these intermediates undergo additional carbene/alkyne metathesis to form second metal carbene intemediates and 1,2 hydride shift to form bridge bicyclic compounds.
