The phase behavior of compressed CO2 in water/salt/AOT/octane systems has been systematically studied over a range of different concentration and variety of inorganic salts at changed temperature and pressure. With the present of compressed CO2, we can dissolve KCl and CaCl2 with the W0 at 32 as high as 4 mol/L and 2.5 mol/L, respectively. Metal ion and compressed CO2 have an importance effect on the solubilization of water in water/AOT/octane systems. On one hand, adding salt into water can cause the droplets become rigid, reduce the radius and few droplets interaction, which can enhance the solubilization of water. But when it exceeds a certain values, the reverse micelles will break due to the limit of nature curvature. On the other hand, CO2 molecules can easily penetrate into the tails of surfactant to enhance the reverse micelles stability. Our work provides some valuable suggestion for industry application for ionic surfactant with high concentration of salt or ionic strength.
