Since the first Pd-catalyzed arylation of several heteroarenes through C-H bond activation was reported by Ohta et al., the Pd-catalyzed direct C-H arylation of heteroarenes has proven to be a very powerful method for the synthesis of a variety of arylated heteroarenes. However, most of the reported studies directed on direct arylation of heterocyclic compounds to deal with monoarylations. In contast, multiple C-H activation is rare, and hence, we examined the possibility of double C-H activation reactions of different N-substitued pyrroles. We recently found a bisarylation of pyrroles can be carried out in the presence of Pd(OAc)<sub>2</sub>, silver salt, and carboxylic acid on water at 40<sup>o</sup>C. Scope of the reaction will be presented.
