I have known Ann Nalley, 2006 ACS President, for many years and can think of no one more deserving for the 2015 ACS Award for Encouraging Women into Careers in the Chemical Sciences. Over the years, I have met many of her students that she brings to national and regional ACS meetings. This past year, I had the pleasure of visiting her university in Lawton, Oklahoma. There I saw her first hand in action—teaching an organic chemistry class and laboratory, mentoring students and younger faculty as well as organizing the local section activities. I have met few others with her limitless energy and enthusiasm. When others are sleeping she is<br/>always working tirelessly to carry out another project! I will share some of my experiences and the great privilege it has been to know Ann Nalley as a Friend, Mentor, and Champion for Women in Science!<br/>
