A new class of pincer ligands that have a unique disubstituted phosphinoamino (NH-PR2) arm is introduced. Air stable pincer complexes were thus developed and they showed efficient catalytic activities in various hydrogenation and dehydrogenation reactions. One remarkable application is for the hydrosilylation/hydrolysis of CO2 to methanol. Mechanistic insights from model reactions and computational studies will be discussed.
