<br/>A new class of halogenated phosphorus ligands, amido fluorophosphites, have been developed for the rhodium catalyzed, low pressure hydroformylation reaction . The phosphorus center of the amido fluorophosphite ligand is substituted with one oxygen, one amido nitrogen and a fluorine. The amido fluorophosphite compounds are prepared by fluoride substitution on the corresponding amido chlorophosphites by a variety of fluoride sources. A group of amido fluorophosphite ligands have been prepared and successfully tested for the hydroformylation of a variety olefins under low pressure hydroformylation conditions.
