Organic-Radical battery (ORB) is a rechargeable battery based on a radical polymer electrode. Nitroxide-radical polymers such as poly(2,2,6,6-tetramethylpiperidinyloxy-4-yl methacrylate) (PTMA) are used as a cathode material of the ORB.In this study, the effect of the electrolyte anion on the rate capability for the ORBs was investigated. The dependence of anion species on charge transportation in PTMA gel was also investigated. The ORB using the LiTFSI-based electrolyte had a better rate capability than that using the LiPF<sub>6</sub>-based electrolyte in the charge current range of 1C to 120C. The PTMA gel with TFSI counter anion is considered to have higher charge transportation than the PTMA gel with PF<sub>6</sub> counter anion. These results indicate that high-rate capability is greatly influenced by the kind of counter anion as well as ionic conductivity.
