The production rate of dimethyl sulfide (DMS) and biogenic volatile organic compounds (BVOC), such as isoprene, are a complex function of oceanic biological conditions and can have important implications for atmospheric chemistry in the remote marine boundary layer. Our understanding of the relative importance of DMS and BVOCs in sea-spray aerosol growth is currently limited by a paucity of field observations of DMS and BVOC concentrations in the marine boundary layer. Here, we report measurements of DMS and speciated BVOC, determined <i>via</i> chemical ionization mass spectrometry (CIMS) over the course of a controlled mesocosm experiment.  We discuss the potential for DMS and BVOC to influence sea spray aerosol size following production, and thus, cloud condensation nuclei concentration.
