Traditionally, Fisher esterification involves reacting an acid with an alcohol to give an ester and water. This is often done with an acid catalyst and with electric or gas heat as the source of thermal energy. Our current work continues to exploit the sun as a source of thermal energy. Various esters have been prepared and the rections and yields will be discussed.
