Arylboronic acids react with manganese(III) acetylacetonate to produce the corresponding coupled biaryl compounds. A series of experiments was conducted using substituted phenylboronic compounds to determine the efficacy of this homocoupling reaction with substituents in the <i>ortho, meta </i>and<i> para</i> positions.
