An increasing number of undergraduates are being encouraged to perform research/internships out of the United States. This presentation will discuss some of the characteristics that contribute to preparing students to maximize the impact of their research experience abroad. Information will be presented from several different "deep immersion" international research programs. Priorities will be presented from the student, the international mentor, and eventual US (graduate program) mentors.
