Organometallic f-block compounds have shown many interesting small molecule activation reactions in recent years, but it is rare to be able to combine two of these reactive metal cations in the same ligand construct.<br/><br/>We will present new low-oxidation state f-block complexes of three different constrained-geometry aza-macrocyclic ligands, focusing in particular on the synthesis of bimetallic early actinide adducts, and their reactivity towards small molecules.<br/><br/>Time allowing, the electronic structure and magnetic behaviour of the uranium and neptunium complexes will be discussed.
