Developing and implementing organic chemistry animations in large and small lecture classroom will be discussed. The iPhone app, <i>Tap OChem</i>, allows students to visualize concepts and mechanisms in organic chemistry, both in and out of the classroom. Concepts include valence bond theory, alkane and cyclohexane conformational analysis, stereochemistry, alkene and diene stability, and aromatic stability. Reactions include substitution and elimination reactions, alkene, alkyne, epoxide, diene, benzene, and carbonyl mechanisms. A discussion on different types of animations will be presented.
