The reinvestigation of the synthesis of a series of first row transition metal complexes with the tetradentate ligand 1,3,7,9-tetraaza-4,10-diketo-6,12-diphenyl-2,8 dithiocyclododecane will be reported. All complexes have been characterized via FTIR, <sup>1</sup>H NMR, melting point, and elemental analysis. Select single crystal structures will be reported and discussed. Preliminary suflur and chlorine K-edge XAS results will be presented.
