In the past five years, numerous varieties of common table salt have been brought to the market, all claiming in some way to be healthier or better for the consumer than the established, mass marketed brands of iodized salt.  Energy dispersive X-ray analyses have been run on these to determine their composition, and to see what elements other than sodium and chlorine are present that might make these salts worth their sometimes very high price. <br/>
